There are two more Olympus news to report today

  1. Olympus announced the E-M10IIIs. Dpreview writes: “The OM-D E-M10 Mark IIIs is the OM-D E-M10 Mark III with a new silent shooting mode and a new ‘Instant Film’ art filter mode. Aside from these two small updates, the camera is otherwise unchanged from its predecessor. Absolutely nothing, inside or out, has changed, including the 16 Megapixel sensor, 5-axis sensor-shift IS and 121-point contrast-detection autofocus.
  2. New E-M1X firmware update with RAW video and Bird Eye AF

(FT5) Olympus 150-400mm PRO lenswill be announced tomorrow and cost $7,499 according to BHphoto

Two details make it likely that the new Olympus 150-400mm PRO lens will cost $7,499:

  1. If you go on this BHphoto search page you will find that BH only find the lens if you set the price at $7,499.
  2. Our reader John spotted this: The lease life shows that the lens would cost you $9600 over the term of the lease.  If you back out the interest cost on the lease, it brings the price of the lens down to $7500.

Announcement tomorrow?

Oly Forum will hold a live chat with Olympus tomorrow at 19:00 Berlin time. They teased that there will be info about something that is now still “confidential”.

One source (Thanks!) sent us this screenshot with details about the new Olympus 150-400mm f/4.5 lens:

  • The lens will cost 880.000 YEN (7000 Euro with tax included!)
  • Shipment start on January 21

I do hope the pricing is a typo. It really makes no sense at all! I hope sources reading this post will send me the real price info :)
