It is likely that Panasonic’s next FullFrame camera will be the Lumix S1HII, designed for cinema. I expect this camera to have some features that may also be present in the GH8 MFT camera. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think a GH8 is on the horizon. We will have to wait until at least 2027 before we see a new GH8.

Global shipments of cameras by Japanese manufacturers increased by 23% in April. A surprising spike that accelerated after the good sales in Q1. Don’t really know what is driving this. There are reports about the Nikon Z5II selling hot in Japan but this can’t be the only reason. Let’s see if this trend continues in the coming months. But I would definitely say that all manufacturers can look forward to a brighter future.
