OM Digital announced it will soon release a new OM-1 firmware update to fix the “freezing issue”

Om Japan issued the following press text (google translated):

We are currently receiving inquiries from customers using the “OM SYSTEM OM-1” that the camera freezes during shooting.

As a result of our research, it was found that when shooting with the EVF (viewfinder) frame rate set to “high speed”, freezes occur depending on the shooting conditions. We have identified the cause and are currently preparing for the release of firmware that addresses this phenomenon on the Web.

Customers who have experienced the above phenomenon are kindly requested to set the EVF frame rate to “Standard” before using it.

We will inform you of the firmware release date at a later date, so please wait for a while.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused to customers using “OM SYSTEM OM-1”. * From the press release

Olympus E-M1 with 3D printed parts

Share

Witono writes:

Not happy with all the missing parts on my Olympus, so I designed and printed them all.
Battery door cover – took me 6 iterations to get it to the perfect dimension, also the fact I was printing with an old 3D printer, designed to match the tolerance.
Eyecup – This is a bummer. I could have printed with soft TPU (I do not have the filament) to mimic the rubber deformation. Instead, this is just an aesthetic part with no deformation. Designed with bridging without support material.
Accessory port cover – My design skill has gotten better. I got the perfect fitting on the 2nd try!
