MONOist reports that Panasonic exhibited its organic CMOS sensor at the “Image Sensing Exhibition 2022 (June 8-10)” held at Pacifico Yokohama. Panasonic already had unveiled the same organic CMOS sensor at the ” 4K / 8K Video Technology Exhibition ” held in October last year. Organic sensors can shoot distortion-free 8K images with the global shutter function.

Yongnuo is brave and innovative, and they are certainly going in the right direction. However, they did not deliver what a photographer would have expected from such a camera. Even people who do not need computational photography would be disappointed with the current feature set of the camera. Then again, such potential customers would have few reasons to buy such a camera…
We can only hope that Yongnuo fixes as many shortcomings as possible with a new firmware (indeed, quite a few could be fixed) to get a product that is not only unique but also much more usable.

A source told me that the upcoming OM-5 will NOT replace the E-M5III. The E-M5II will stay in production.
The OM-5 will be announced in July/August. Not sure about the specs yet but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it using the same new OM-1 sensor…
