Digitalcameraworld summed up what we can expect to get from OM Digital:

  • New OM-10: We can thus surmise that the OM System OM-10 will probably possess very similar specs to the brilliant Olympus PEN E-P7
  • OM System will partner with other companies
  • PEN and Tough cameras will continue
  • OM System PEN-F II
  • OM System PEN E-PL11
  • OM System Tough TG-7 (16MP with new Truepic processor)
  • Bags, straps and photography tours (OM Digital trying to expand their market to accessories and in person tours)

Let’s hope most of this turns out to be true!

Japanese Grand Prix award: OM 90mm macro is the lens of the year

The 2023 lens of the year award did go to the Om 90mm macro lens for the following reason:

This is the macro lens with the longest focal length among the Micro Four Thirds standards. It achieves a maximum shooting magnification of 2x (equivalent to 4x on 35mm format) and can also be used with a teleconverter. It has been highly praised for its advanced features, including “up to 7 stops of image stabilization” and “depth composite shooting,” on compatible camera bodies. The rare “180mm” (35mm format equivalent) angle of view is easy to maintain a working distance, and it isalso effective for capturing distant scenery in landscape photography. This lens has further expanded the shooting scenes of the Micro Four Thirds system, which is known for its compact and lightweight design.”

The new Peak Design Micro Clutch collected over half a million Dollars on Kickstarter (click here). This is what they write:

Micro Clutch is a hand strap. It’s optimized for mirrorless cameras. We made Micro Clutch for two reasons: 

  • Cameras have, for the most part, gotten smaller.
