Tokyo, Japan, October 25, 2023 – OM Digital Solutions Corporation1 and Panasonic Entertainment & Communication Co., Ltd. jointly announced the Micro Four Thirds System standard in 2008, and have since been working together to promote the standard. We are pleased to announce today that Hangzhou Xingxi Technology Co., Ltd (YoloLiv) has declared their support for the Micro Four Thirds System standard and will be introducing compliant products to the market. The Micro Four Thirds System is currently supported by 59 companies, including companies focusing on B2B operations. As the company responsible for initiating both the Four Thirds System and the Micro Four Thirds System standards, OM Digital Solutions and Panasonic will continue to develop and enhance the product line-up to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

CameraBeta claims to know that the G100II is coming soon. It says the camera will have the following specs:

  • 25.2MP Live MOS Micro Four Thirds Sensor
  • 779-Point Phase-Detection AF System
  • 4K 60p 4:2:2 10-Bit Video Recording
  • Single UHS-II SD Slots

We know the Blogger market is booming so it would make sense for Panasonic to update the current G100.

Panasonic officially registered another new model in China. We now have TWO cameras coming soon!

Panasonic now has a total of TWO cameras registered in China. Usually it takes up to a couple of months until registered models get officially announced:

  • Camera “P2303A” has dual 5.1/2.4GHz support indicating it’s a mode advanced model (Could be GH7 or SR1II)
  • Camera “P2301A” has 2.4GHz support “only” which indicates this is a more entry level model (Could be fixed lens camera or entry level MFT or some BG video model)

New GH6/GH5II firmware update adds DJI Lidar support

Today Panaosnic issued a new firmware update for both cameras: av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/dsc/download/index.html. These are the improvements:

  1. Expanded compatibility with DJI Gimbal
    – Now supports “DJI LiDAR AF” in the combination of DJI gimbal “DJI RS 3Pro” and “DJI LiDAR Range Finder (RS)”.
    * All functions may not be available depending on the situation.

  2. Others
    – There were cases where the camera froze when shooting in Apple ProRes recording modes depending on the settings. This phenomenon has been fixed.
