Yodobashi reported that the new OM TG7 is the best selling compact camera in their store (data for the first two weeks of November). There is still some life in the compact camera market :)
Japanese stores ae marking the Silver Olympus 75mm lens as discontinued. The lens is still in Stock at BHphoto and Amazon US&EU. But it will take little time for the lens to be out of stock. The Black version will remain in production for now.

During my engineering days, I was stationed full time at a construction site. I was not happy with the company’s compact camera that they provided, which had bad image quality and no controls. I purchased the Panasonic Lumix LZ8 to be used for site documentation purposes, it has full manual control (ISO, aperture and shutter speed), more zoom capabilities (5x zoom) and the image quality was much better too. I still have that camera, and I thought it would be fun to bring it out for some street action!
