One of my favorite websites tested the Olympus E-P2. Click here to read the whole review made by CameraLabs! The most interesting part to me is when they talk about the E-P2 versus the new E-PL1: “There’s simply no getting away from the fact the E-PL1 includes the most important aspects of the E-P2 at a lower price and throws a flash in too.”

Panasonic basic plans for 2010…a little to basic :)

At a convention in Munich Panasonic “unveiled” their 2010 plan for the G-System. Photographyblog knows the three key points of the “plan”:
– Expand Lineup
– Pursue Easy Operation
– Expand Lens Lineup

That’s kind of a plan! :)

Photozone tests the Olympus 50-200mm lens

It is very rare that photozone tests FourThirds lenses. Today they published the Olympus 50-200mm review. And the lens gets Higly Recommended!

The current price of the lens at amazon is $960.95

Just a small update about the MicroFourThirds competition. It seems that Sony is going to announce two or more mirrorless cameras on PMA (click here to read the specs on SonyAlphaRumors). Samsung is also going to announce a cheaper NX camera (source: k-rumors.com).

What’s common with the the two rumors is that it seems that both companies will present very compact cameras (like the Pen-series or Panasonic GF1).

Interesting: Canon and Nikon should not unveil any mirrorless camera soon…

I just received this mail from Noktor: “Senko, Navitar, Yakumo, etc all re-brand their lenses from a single japanese optical company. They do not make the lenses. The Noktor lens is slightly different in mechanical design, and has a different internal anti-reflective coating as well.“

DxO mark just posted their latest sensor test of the Panasonic GF1 and Olympus E-P2. As expected there is only a marginal difference.
