Good morning!

Let’s make a summary of all the rumors we posted during the last weeks.

1) New Panasonic GF1 Viewfinder
According to infos we received from Japan the Panasonic DMW-LVF1 is going to be replaced!
Possible release: soon!

2) Panasonic GF2
We found a very interesting new Panasonic patent which displays a Panasonic GF1 similar camera with Built-In EVF. Finally a rangefinder styled MicroFourThirds camera!!!
Possible release: September 2010

3) Panasonic LX4
Finally I got some (bad) news from a trusted source. He told me the Panasonic LX3 successor will not be announced soon. He also told me that “the Panasonic LX3 is a camera which is very popular in Europe and US and less in Asia. So we should expect an announcement for Photokina (September).”.
Possible release: September 2010

4) Panasonic 14mm f/2.5
The lens is a third stop faster than expected (Originally Panasonic told us the lens would be a f/2.8).
Release expected in June-July.
P.S.: The Panasonic 100-300mm f/4 will come at Photokina 2010.

5) Panasonic GH2 rumors
EOSHD spotted a new Panasonic patent which shows a GH1 similar camera with metal body.
The new metal body has heat radiators and heat conductors to remove heat from around the image processing unit and the CMOS sensor. Read more at EOSHD!
Possible release: September 2010

6) Olympus E-5
In an interview with Amateur Photographer MR.Terada from Olympus said that “we are planning to introduce new Four Thirds bodies in the future” and “a replacement for the top-end E-3 is being worked on“.
Possible release: September 2010

7) Olympus E-460
Few days ago DxO mark “leaked” a possible Olympus E-450 replacement called “E-460“.
Now one of our readers noticed that the E400 series cameras are missing on the official Olympus Japan website! Hmmm, is Olympus going to announce the E-460 soon? And will Olympus release even more cameras?
Possible release: soon

Testing various ‘legacy’ 50mm lenses on the Panasonic GF1

Share

I just saw a very good review on Pbase about various ‘legacy’ 50mm lenses on the Panasonic GF1.

Following lenses have been tested (click on the link to see the lens on eBay):

1. Canon 50mm f1.2 LTM
2. Canon 50mm f1.4 LTM
3. Leica 50mm Summilux f1.4 (first version) – M fit
4. Jupiter 3 50mm f1.5 (copy of the Zeiss 50/1.5)
5. Leica Summicron 50mm f2 (pre-asph new version, 1980s-1990s) – M fit
6. Leica Summicron 50mm f2 (pre-asph, chrome older version) – M fit
7. Voigtlander Heliar 50mm f2
8. Leica Elmar 50mm f2.8 (old M fit collapsable version)

It has been a huge surprise for me to read from the test that the Coigtländer Heliar showed the post performance! Do you agree?

He also tested the Black&White performance.
One more test is available here: http://www.pbase.com/nickdemarco/test_3_final
