Key informations:
– The Samsung 30mm pancake is almost as good as the Panasonic 20mm
– Samsung NX10 and Panasonic GF1 jpeg comparison shows that the GF1 has the “lightest anti-aliasing filter“.
– In RAW the GF1 is “slightly out-resolving the Samsung

MicroFourThirds now owns 20.2% of the japanese DSLR sales share!

Share

In March 2010 MicroFourThirds has been able to expand the japanese DSLR sales share and now crossed the 20% barrier! One year ago when only the Panasonic G1 was available the MicroFourThirds share was 5.5%.
I don’t know if Panasonic and Olympus really expected to have such a huge success when they started the MicroFourThirds “project”.

Image Sensors World just found the new Panasonic sensor roadmap! The most interesting graph is the one I posted above. Click on the image to see it at originial size.
But what is coming in 2012? A 20 Megapixel sensor! Don’t get too excited, this is just a roadmap and as pointed by the ISW Blog roadmaps can change…

The pdf is available for download here at http://www.semicon.panasonic.co.jp/en/catalog/cat/pdf/A00006NE.pdf (Yes it is an official Panasonic document!)

The preproduction G2 tested by quesabesde (image copyright by quesabesde)

Our friend Iker Morán just posted the new Panasonic G2 preview on Quesabesde (google english translation). They hade a pre-production model so things can change a little bit. They also have some image samples available for download and videos.

Interesting:
– There is a small pointer included! Didn’t know that.
– The 14-42 mm lens shows an excellent autofocus performance when recording video sequences

P.S.: No preorders are available on Amazon or BHphoto
