Panasonic announced a new firmware for the [shoplink 14802]Panasonic 14-140mm[/shoplink] lens. The new FW improves the stability of O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer) and AF(Auto Focus) in movie recording. According to a first 43rumors user report the “OIS does seem to be more efficient at the long focal length“.
Adobe announced the new Photoshop Lightroom 3.3, Camera Raw 6.3 and DNG Converter 6.3. Support for the following Olympus/Panasonic cameras has been added:
[shoplink 17163]Olympus E-5[/shoplink]
[shoplink 17361]Panasonic DMC-GF2[/shoplink]
[shoplink 16254]Panasonic DMC-GH2[/shoplink]
The next positive [shoplink 17163]Olympus E-5[/shoplink] review has been published by the German magazine colorfoto.de (click here to read the google english translation). The camera gains 73/100 points. By comparison the Nikon D7000 has 69.5/100 points only. The real strength of the camera is the new Truepic V+ imaging processor. And the only major weakness is the high price. You can download all image samples and chart results here: http://www.colorfoto.de/produkte/olympus-e-5-1036192.html.
Also the hungarian website Pixinfo.com posted a new E-5 review (google English translation toll doesn’t work here).
Many readers sent us links to shops where you can find the Panasonic GH2 in Stock. Please keep in mind that the status can change quickly (and I will go to sleep soon). I can’t check all websites at any time :)

Oh for US readers: Amazon changed the GH2 availability from “1-3 months” to “1-2 months“. I know that’s only a negligible improvement but I am trying to give you a moral support :)
UPDATE: It looks like those guys that ordered the GH2 (Body Only) at Panasonic’s online store will get the camera very soon (Source: Dpreview forum). I hope this means that also other US stores will ship it soon…
The very first non-japanese GH2 version is now on auction at [shoplink 18146 ebay]eBay[/shoplink]! It is a body-only black Panasonic GH2 sold by a customer from Montreal (Canada). I bet that the auction will not end with a cheap sales price :(
UPDATE: Last chance to vote your preferred leses. Tomorrow I will close the poll.
Almost 250 43rumors readers sent me a wishlist of future Micro Four Thirds lenses. I grouped them and now you can vote the lens you like!
A few rules:
1) You can vote a maximum of 10 lenses. You can vote one time only (your IP-address will be stored).
2) Don’t be worried if you can’t find the exact lens you were looking for. This is a pure indicative poll.
3) OIS = Image stabilization
4) I didn’t add the 25mm f/1.4 lens because it is already coming from Panasonic
5) Feel free to contact me at any time if you want me to remove or change your vote.
IMPORTANT: I will send the poll results to Panasonic and Olympus. So your vote matters!
Select your favorite future Micro Four Thirds lenses (choose a maximum of 10 lenses!)

OlympusCafè launched the Olympus Cafe TV, where users can see all Olympus/Photography related videos in one place on the site.
Panasonic will launch a new LCD protective film for the GF2 on March 12 (DC.watch.impress).
A 43rumors readers sent me following text: “G2 has the Extended Teleconversion feature of the GH2. I checked the manual and sure enough the G2 has the extra teleconversion feature that the GH2 has even for video. They called it EZ zoom for the G2 though. It is limited to a single 3.1x zoom for videos but it appears to be the near lossless version of the GH2. It crops the sensor instead of scaling.
I can’t believe no one has mentioned that the G2 had this before? Panasonic did not even advertise it.
Now that the G2 can be hacked it could be amazing with the 100 mb/sec MJPEG settings and the teleconversion feature. I think the G2 will increase in value in the near future.
G2 manual page 56 explains how its EZ zoom feature works for Video and Stills. http://tda.panasonic-europe-service….90/vqt2s42.pdf
