There is now more new stuff coming from the competition! Sony announced the new NEX-C3, a huge 30mm macro lens and a new NEX flash. You can follow all the news on MirrorlessRumors (Click here).
UDPATE: There is a ISO comparison with the new SOny NEX-C3 versus the Panasonic G3 and Olympus E-PL2 at Dpreview, Focus Numerique (Click here).
UPDATE_2: They also tested the camera for a week and noticed that the anti dust cleaning isn’t as good as the one used by Olympus. And also the OIS system is not as effective as the one used by Olympus. And they do prefer the Panasonic G3 performance over the NEX-C3!
Image on top shows the currently only Panasonic-Leica lens for the Micro Four Thirds system, the [shoplink 14794]45mm f/2.8 macro[/shoplink].
I am still not 100% sure about the final price of the upcoming Panasonic-Leica 25mm f/1.4 but I have two small FT5 info (FT5=almost certainly correct info from trusted sources):
1) The Leica 25mm f/1.4 costs less than $1000. I got this from very good sources. A new source told us the lens will cost somewhere between $800-900 (That’s FT3). I don’t know the price in Europe but I suspect that companies will continue to make the wrong calculation: 1 Dollar = 1 Euro :(
A quick price comparison: The Four Thirds [shoplink 16340 ebay]Panasonic 25mm f/1.4[/shoplink] price was $1099. ANd the actual price of the [shoplink 14794]Pana-Leica 45mm[/shoplink] macro is $800. 2) The Leica 25mm f/1.4 is quite compact although not as compact as the [shoplink 14796]Panasonic 20mm f/1.7[/shoplink] (double the length of the 20mm pancake).
If you know the price of the lens in US and in Europe feel free to contact me anonymously by using the contact form on the right sidebar. You can avoid to send me your name and email address. it also doesn’t store your IP address. Thanks for every info you can share! :)
Reminder: The [shoplink 16340]Panasonic 25mm f/1.4[/shoplink] Four Thirds lens has been officially discontinued. You can still find some of them on [shoplink 16340 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].

Dpreivew added the Panasonic G3 images on the studio comparison tool (Click here and than select the G3 to compare the results with the GH2). As you can see the G3 and GH2 are pretty close at low ISO. Only at 1600 you will see a small difference between the two cameras. Last week Digitalcamerareview posted the full G3 test and the camera became an “editor’s choice! And Popphoto posted a new set of G3 image samples.

I confess, I bought three Olympus E-P1 cameras in almost 2 months! And for those being worried that I am might causing a price increase don’t worry. There are dozens of m43 camera auctions ending every day!
UPDATE: Many here are looking for getting the X100 for a decent price. It’s not a m43 camera but if you are interested it is in Stock right now at BHphoto (Click here)!!!
Finally I found some cool refurbished deal in US! There are many refurbished PEN cameras BHphoto (Click here). And there is also a refurbished Olympus E-5 for $1,494.95 (Click here to see it at BH).
And if you want to buy a really cheap m43 camera than you should take a look at the ten refurbished GF10 cameras with 14-42mm lens that are for sale on [shoplink 22803 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].
A popco forum user took my original E-PL2 vs NEX-C3 vs GF2 size comparison and added attached the GF3 on the GF2 image. The proportions are correct because he took the mount size as reference. As you can see the GF3 keeps the same height as the GF2 in the middle where you have the mount. It’s also a bit less wider. I think the size advantage of the GF3 over the GF2 is minimal and the question here is if you really will notice it in daily usage. So who will win the miniaturization war between Sony and Panasonic? I think the smaller lenses of the m43 system are playing a bigger role than the camera size. A [shoplink 16258]Panasonic 14mm f/2.5[/shoplink] lens is almost half thick than the [shoplink 16258]Sony 16mm f/2.8[/shoplink] lens. So m43 still has a considerable advantage!Anyway, I am also curious to see how the Olympus Pen mini will look like!
At that point a reminder for everyone: The Sony NEX-C3 will be announced on Wednesday (June 8th), the GF3 on Monday (June 13th) and the Olympus mini on June 30th. That’s why you should keep following us! P.S: Join us on Facebook and Twitter

And here it is the new Panasonic GF3!!! It has been leaked inside the video you can see below. Panasonic chose to replace the only eight month old [shoplink 17361]Panasonic GF2[/shoplink] in order to compete against the upcoming NEX-C3 (which will be announced on June 8th). Yes guys, as we all know the Megapixel war is over and let’s say hello to the Miniaturization war! P.S.: You can see the GF2 vs NEX-C3 size comparison here. The GF3 has about the same size of the current Panasonic TZ cameras ([shoplink 22338 ebay]Click here to see them on eBay[/shoplink]).
Two more pictures (Click on them to enlarge!):
The GF3 mount is actually higher than the camera itself. We know from our sources the camera has no hot shoe and it’s almost completely a touchscreen oriented devices (why do we need buttons? Bleh!). We are not sure about the specs now but we do believe it features the same [shoplink 22077]Panasonic G3[/shoplink] 16 Megapixel sensor. The camera will be announced on June 13 at 7 am London time along the new Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4 lens (yes guys that’s FT5 for us!!!)
For those of you waiting for a more professional GF camera and worthy [shoplink 19929]Fuji X100[/shoplink] competition wait a couple of months when Panasonic may will announce the Micro Four Thirds version of the Panasonic L1 ([shoplink 20740 ebay]Click here to see that cam on eBay[/shoplink]).
You can see the GF3 inside that video starting from minute 3:40. It’s an official commercial made for Panasonic! I bet the video will be rmeoved soon!
