Panasonic officially registered three new cameras in China: Is one of them the GH7?

Share

AI generated impression of the GH7 …yep…fail :)

E8M on Weibo spotted two more new camera registrations from Panasonic (we now have a total of three registered cameras). Usually this means that Panasonic will announce those cameras within 2-3 months. All three cameras do support dual band Wifi (5.1 and 2.4 GHz). The dual band support usually is a sign for a mid to high end level camera.

Camera 1: Panasonic S1RII

I am certain one of the cameras is the new Full Frame S1R camera. I told you that my trusted source told me that Panasonic and Leica co-developed the just announced SL3. And the agreements says that Panasonic will announce their High res camera only a couple of months after this camera…with same sensor and similar specs. The S1RII will have better video tough.

Camera 2: new compact FF L-mount camera?

I am uncertain what we can expect from the second model. Panasonic openly confessed they are thinking about a more compact L-mount Full Frame camera. So this could be an option.

Camera 3: GH7 MFT camera?

I hope at least one of the three is a MFT camera. It’s clear that we are in dire need of a new GH7…so my fingers are crossed for this one!

Hopefully my sources can soon tell me more about both cameras! If you know anything about those cameras drop me an anonymous message using this contact box (kindly use a nickname to recognize you in future). Or contact me at 43rumors@gmail.com.

PetaPixel: Panasonic Says the G9 II is Physically Large to Balance Better for Wildlife Photography

Share

The G9II is in Stock at BHphoto, Amazon US&EU, Adorama, Fotokoch, FotoErhardt, WexUK.

PetaPixel had a short chat with Tomoki Nakanishi, Supervisor of the Marketing in the Imaging Business Unit at Panasonic. He explained the G9II had to be nearly as big as the S5II to better balance with telephoto lenses.

“G9 Mark II is very good at telephoto shooting and [as you know] the lens therefore becomes bigger [in those cases],” Nakanishi adds. “G9 Mark II is not the type of camera for street photography so we have to try and [design it to be held] for telephoto shooting.”

“I think the G9 Mark II overall is taken to be a very large Micro Four Thirds camera. But if we compare numbers with the original G9, it’s actually not that different in size,” Sugawara says.

One of the most curious Amazon storage deals ever: Buy FIFTY(!) Lexar 128GB V30 SD cards for $162!

Share

This is one of the weirdest deals ever! You have to do this to get it:

  1. Go on the Lexar 128 SD card page on Amazon (Click here).
  2. Select as seller “Beach Camera Same Day Shipping”… this is important as the deal only works through this seller!
  3. Add 50 cards to your cart and you will get an instant discount for a total price of $162…this $3,24 per card!

And now it gets crazier….you want a bigger discount? Add 500 cards to the cart and you will pay only $2,5 per card!

Now, I realize those are slow cards. But still, if you have kids and friends that don’t need max speed for their cameras you can make some nice presents for them :)
