(FT4) Ultra compact Panasonic MFT to be launched by end of the year?

Share

[shoplink 23109 ebay][/shoplink]

Digicaminfo reports that Panasonic will launch a new ultra-compact Micro Four Thirds camera by end of the year. The camera will be smaller than the [shoplink 23109]Panasonic GF3[/shoplink]. The same rumor also confirms the rumor I posted about the GX7 camera that will be larger than any other GX-GF camera we have seen so far.

In short, the GF line will become ultra small, the GX line much larger. Makes sense to me!

P.S.: The source compares the new ultra small compact with the GF3 because this is the smallest MFT camera to date. Put a 14mm pancake on it and you can carry it in your pocket. In US you can have that combo for $249 at [shoplink 39186 ebay]eBay US (Click here)[/shoplink].

Voigtlander Nokton 42,5mm to ship in July for 1199 Euro!

Share

Finally Voigtlander shared  the shipping info and price for the new 42,5mm f/0.95 lens! It will be in Stock in July for 1199 Euro (no info yet about the price in Dollar or YEN). I don’t know if you feel the price is right. But I am sure the Panasonic 42,5mm f/1.2 AF lens coming in early 2014 will not be cheaper!

WIll you buy the lens?

[shoplink 39163 ebay][/shoplink]

You fools! Why buy a Panasonic GH3 when you can have the “Pentax GH3” for $55 less? :)  US eBay seller [shoplink 39163 ebay]electronics valley has them on auction now (Click here)[/shoplink]. I checked the customers feedback on those having ordered the Panasonic-Pentax GH3 are happy! Obviously this is only a mistake in the title :)

UPDATE: There is on single DEMO(!) [shoplink 39166 ebay]Silver OMD body for $799 at CameraLand (Click here)[/shoplink].

By the way, today for the first time the Panasonic GF6 is in Stock via Japanese seller at Amazon US (Click here). This cameras comes with English menu and manual and no extra tax to pay! Amazon itself will have them in Stock on July 1.

P.S.: There is a Gold Box deal on the Olympus SP-620UZ (Click here).

(FT4) Small rumor: The name is GX7?

Share

I am still (very busy) working on the next bunch of GX and OMD rumors. I got a small detail from a source about the name of the new Panasonic camera. It is the “Panasonic DMC-GX7“. The rumors till has not been confirmed by my trusted sources but I “believe” it’s the correct final name. Bloggers and forum owners and ebay sellers can now start to create their GX7 forums. Meantime I made a GX7 group on Facebook and a Google+ page :)

All specs got confirmed, the camera is bigger than previous models and design reminds the [shoplink 36080 ebay]Four Thirds L1 camera (here on eBay)[/shoplink]. It has a new 18MP sensor but I don’t yet if that is multiaspect or the new color splitter sensor. It has the built-in image stabilization which is not the same and not as advanced as the one from Olympus. It has a built-in viewfinder that you can tilt up.

I found it quite funny that a terrific good source told me that Panasonic made the camera for me :)  Thanks you Panasonic engineers!

– Collaboration between Olympus and Sony is mainly on the medical business.

The GX1 and E-P3 double lens kit deals in UK/Germany.

Share

The E-P5 is here and the GX successor is also on the horizon. And even in the usually not so exciting European Deal front we can share some great deal on the “old” E-P3 and GX1 cameras:

1) There is a Panasonic GX1 Black Digital Camera with 14-42mm PZ and 20mm f1.7 Lenses for 656,00 Euro at Wex Germany (Click here) and 528 Pound at Wex UK (Click here). If you calculate the single price of the lenses you will notice that you pay almost nothing for the camera itself!

2) The E-P3 with 14-42mm II R + 40-150mm R lens sells for 599 Euro at [shoplink 39150 ebay]FotoMundus Germany (Click here)[/shoplink]. In that case you pay 300 Euro only for the camera.

As you know the E-P5 is way more expensive than the E-P3 and so will be the new GX camera. This may be a good time to buy very good cameras for few pennies!
