E-M1 vs E-M5 vs E-M10 image comparison done by DicaHub.

Yesterday we learned that Olympus will offer an E-M5 and 12-40mm lens bundle. But that E-M5 has at least one small difference over the current E-M5. This is an “elite” version that has a new texture on the body (might be the same E-M10 texture you see on the image on top). But the camera specs are exactly the same. It’s just an esthetic change!

It took a while but now you can preorder the new crazy good and a bit crazy expensive Nocticron 42,5mm f/1.2 lens at Amazon US (Click here). And these are the new lens reviews:

The first results with this new 42.5 mm are quite good without being outstanding. The images are crisp and stitched in the center at full aperture of f / 1.2. This sensation of sharpness fades as one approaches the edges.

Next week on January 29 (6am London time) Olympus will not only announce the E-M10 and the three new MFT lenses. There will be also a new E-M5 with 12-40mm lens kit and three new compacts.The kit will be available only with the Black E-M5.

Digicameinfo reports there will be three new compacts too:
– STYLUS SP-100EE estimated retail price of about 55,000 yen
– STYLUS TG-850 Tough estimated retail price of about 35,000 yen
– STYLUS TG-835 Tough estimated retail price of about 33,000 yen

Samyang/Rokinon quietly introduced two new MFT mount version of some of their lenses. They are already available at BHphoto:

Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC (Click here to see it at BHphoto).
Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC (Click here to see it at BHphoto).

These are lenses designed for Full Frame DSLR cameras. The only thing that they did change is the mount. That’s why the lenses are big. But what the heck, $299 for a very good quality 85mm f/1.4 lens is a no brainer if you don’t care about the size!
