(FT5) “Emergency” E-P5 firmware update coming soon (still no E-M5 firmware).

Share

I have been told form a very reliable sources Olympus is working on an emergency E-P5 firmware update release. What I don’t know is what exactly will be fixed by the fw. Like you know last week Olympus released the new E-P5 fw with 0 shock addition.

And again, no E-M5 firmware update yet to come:(  A bit frustrating. Hope Olympus will listen to current E-M5 users and add the 0 shock feature for them too!

Ryan:Hey guys, I shot a brief test with the GH4 and Defy G2 in the Bahamas on Sunday…I figured I’d share with you. I was going for a filmic look to contrast a lot of the footage I’ve seen so far from this camera: https://vimeo.com/95246522. Settings: Natural with contrast -5, saturation -2, sharpness -5 shadow/highlight curves adjusted based on available light I’m shooting a 3 min short in a state park with actors to test skin tones, cinematic shots & slow-mo. I’ll send that over when it’s done if you’re interested.

Alexandre:I’m a huge fan of your blog. I think I’m visiting it 5-10 times a day. Recently I received my GH4 and I had the opportunity to shoot a full day in some nice and natural places. It’s a short test on GH4 4K in few conditions using Nokton 25mm 0.95 lens, Noktor and Nikon lenses. I’m not a professionnal and I really hope to be able to test Lausanne in the city, during the evening or the night to have some nice low light tests. If you want or estimate it’s good enough to share it, it would be an honor and pleasure! Here is the link ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHXuiTOtj1s. The video is still in processing for 35 minutes. I hope you’ll enjoy it. Have a nice day, and wish you all the best! Bonne continuation!

Eric:Apparently my Olympus 12-40mm lens is fated to be a durability proof for the lens (thought by some to be fragile). I have another story of its surviving a near-death experience on my blog: http://www.seldomscenephotography.com/2014/05/18/denvers-union-station-architecture-and-how-not-to-treat-a-nice-lens/

Justin:Hi, I live in Melbourne Australia.  You can buy the Olympus O-MD E-M1 with 12-50 lens here at the moment and get $300 cash back from Olympus via redemption.  Plus, on top of that I received an email from a store called JB HI-FI today offering another $400.00 off!!  This is an email only offer and you need to print out the voucher and present it at the store.  I can’t find the $400.00 offer on their website, only via the email.  Ends Sunday 25th of may.  If you have an email address I can forward you the email they sent me.

Heather: “I thought this list of 10 professional photographers who use the E-M1 for work might be of interest to those readers who are considering making the switch but are still on the fence. :- Bestmirrorlesscamerareviews.com
