Imaging Business status:
During fiscal year 2016 Olympus had a -1% net sales mainly due the compact camera sales dropping. The Mirrorless system camera sales had a 5% increase. Olympus writes:

In the mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera field, the OM-D series and “OLYMPUS PEN-F,” etc. increased sales, with sales also boosted by a contribution from the high performance interchangeable lenses “M.ZUIKO DIGITAL PRO” series with additions of new models bringing the lineup to five models. Meanwhile, in the compact camera field, the Company continued to limit the number of units sold in response to market shrinkage. Consequently, sales in the Imaging Systems Business overall decreased year on year.

(FT3) New Panasonic GH5 sensor is made by Sony.

Share

MFT-sony

The current Sony FT sensors listed at Sony.net.

An Asian source reported that about the rumored new Panasonic GH5 sensor:

“Sony has an 18.9mm*13mm M43 sensor designed for Panasonic that could be used in GH5. Very high-end, 24 channel super fast readout speed that BIONZX could not keep up with. Only Panasonic can fully unleash the potential of this chip right now.”

Well, sounds great! Hope this means the GH5 is coming long before Photokina this year!
