(FT3) Panasonic GH5 to be announced at the IBC in Amsterdam?

In late August Panasonic will announce a new MFT camera but this won’t be for the new GH5. There will be a new entry level MFT camera instead.

I still have no bulletproof info when the GH5 will be announced. But a new source just sent me this:

I’m told (after asking over and over and over) that they’ll be introducing the GH5 at IBC.

The IBC show in Amsterdam starts on September 9. But I am really not sure yet the GH5 is coming at the IBC show…

Kipon BAVEYES announces new Leica M and Nikon F speed booster adapters

Kipon announced two new Speed Booster adapters for Leica M and Nikon F lenses. By using that adpater you gain 1 stop aperture with 0,7x focal length reduction. Kipon writes:
If you want to use the 50mm lens: 50mm × 2x (Micro Four Thirds focus magnification) × 0.7x (BAVEYES focus magnification) = 70mm angle of view equivalent
If you want to use the 35mm lens: 35mm × 2x (Micro Four Thirds focus magnification) × 0.7x (BAVEYES focus magnification) = 49mm angle of view equivalent

Tony Northrup says MFT weakest point is the phase detection autofocus system

Tony Northrup went through all weakest points from the current camera manufacturers. Watch from minute 11.40 towards to hear him talking about Olympus and Panasonic. In his opinion both companies didn’t do enough to implement phase detection autotofocus system on their cameras. Even the best Olympus camera doesn’t do as good as entry-level DSLR when it comes to continuous autofocus tracking.

This is exactly one of the improvments the new E-M1II shoudl bring. Let’s just hope our rumors about that are correct ;)
