The heavy price tag may be a big hurdle for many. But if you wonder what you get for $1,999 than look at these images from the official Olympus E-M1II presentation. It should convince quite a few readers that despite the price this is by far the best MFT camera yet. And probably in some aspects it’s even better than more expensive cameras out there:
This has to be a mistake: The new Olympus E-M1II sells for half the US price at Amazon Canada! I know a few readers preordered the camera but I am pretty sure Amazon will cancel those preorders-
The reason for the increased price compared to the E-M1 are the following:
– Yen got a 23% appreciation over the Euro in 3 years
– Salary increase for workers
– Higher costs of the parts
Sensor is designed also by part of the Medical sensor engineering team and produced by Sony
Production of the camera is already running in Vietnam

Ray: “a major motorcycle event shot this weekend solely with an E-M1, 14-35mm f2 and 35-100mm f2 (mostly with the latter).
This event is something that apparently started in Europe and now happens elsewhere in the world. It’s the only such event in Australia, held at the start of the motorcycle racing season. http://australianimage.com.au/wordpress/index.php/blessing-of-the-bikes-2016-part-1/”
