The Olympus PEN-F just got announced and as a rumor site we wonder…what’s coming as next? Well this is an easy guess: The Panasonic GF8 is rumored to be announced in February. And hopefully Panasonic will show us some nice new lens (as prototype) at CP+ too.

The major question is when Panasonic will release the GH5. Photokina is the best guess for now…

Competition news: Sony launches the A6300

2016 just started and we already got plenty of new mirrorless cameras from Olympus and Fuji. And today Sony announced their new A6300 E-mount camera. The camera costs $1,000. The probably weakest spot is not the camera itself. But the fact that Sony is only developing and launching BIG FE lenses. It doesn’t look like A6xxx owners will get proper designed APS-C lenses any time soon.

Panasonic releases new info about the Organic Sensor!

Today Panasonic announced the specs of three new sensors.

Of course we expect all that tech to be used by future digital system and fixed Lumix cameras too. So let’s take a closer look to all three sensors:

1) Organic sensor 1:

Panasonic develops 10times Higher Saturation & Highly Functional Global Shutter Technology by controlling of Organic-Photoconductive-Film on CMOS Image Sensor
http://news.panasonic.com/press/news/data/2016/02/en160203-6/en160203-6.html

2) Organic sensor #2:

Panasonic Develops Industry-First*1 123dB Simultaneous-Capture Wide-Dynamic-Range Technology using Organic-Photoconductive-Film CMOS Image Sensor
http://news.panasonic.com/press/news/data/2016/02/en160203-5/en160203-5.html

3) APD sensor:

Panasonic Develops the APD-CMOS Image Sensor to Realizes Sharp Color Imaging under 0.01 lux Illuminance
http://news.panasonic.com/press/news/data/2016/02/en160203-13/en160203-13.html
According to Nikkei the primary business of that APD sensor is the automotive industry. Nikkei reports:

Panasonic says it has developed an image sensor 100 times as sensitive to light as existing technology, enabling self-driving cars to spot pedestrians, traffic signals and other objects instantly even at night. The Japanese manufacturer aims to have a practical version ready as early as 2020 or so.

One more thing: The organic sensor tech is developed in conjunction with Fuji. I just hope Panasonic-Fuji organic sensor will be soon ready for production!

Thanks Dicahub!
