GH5 news and reviews roundup (Richard Wong, Photographyblog, Peter Gregg)

Share

Richard Wong posted the full GH5 review:

To me, the most important improvement is that the camera can be used to create high quality video footage without any external accessory (okay, maybe apart from a good microphone). While the weight of the camera is a bit heavier than the GH4, in real life, it is a lot lighter as you could just carry the camera when you are filming and leave most of those external accessories at home. This is a dream comes true for any videographer that shoot run and gun type of video.

New GH5 review by Photographyblog:

The sheer number of options available on the GH5 is undoubtedly initially confusing, but that’s merely an observation rather than a criticism. If you typically shoot both stills and video, there’s simply nothing to challenge the Panasonic GH5 at this price-point and in such a portable format, making it a worthy winner of our highest accolade – Essential!

Thiery:Hihi, just to let you know that i’ve managed to get HSS 1/8000 working on the GH5 using Cactus v6 ii triggers and Godox AD360’s. I thought that this could be interesting for all stills shooters out there. I posted the info on the GH5 FB group. here’s a (hopefully working) link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/pansonicgh5/1690908787875489/?notif_t=like&notif_id=1491253744292961#

GH5 at Amazon, BHphoto, Adorama and Panasonic US. In EU at Amazon.de, Cyberport.de and ParkCamera.

Nick Driftwood’s GH5 got stolen. And here is how you can help him to find it again

Share

Nick just sent me that message:

I want to report that my GH5 was stolen along with an SLR Magic Anamorphot 35mm T2.4 lens during a workshop visit to Barcelona yesterday. I was taking footage around the Gothic area – Carrer d’en Monec (Map ref: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@41.3887062,2.1774242,3a,75y,316.24h,41.57t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s6uKFZX5WCpO_rpheeReWbA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1) when I was tricked and let go of my guard. From under my nose in a mere second my camera was swiped and suspects ran off.
Serial number of Lumix GH5 is WG-PP001244. The SLR Magic had a white sticker on it saying the number SLRM355 I think though Im awaiting confirmation.
Please could you get a message out to readers of 43rumors to be wary. Especially that map reference in Barcelona!. There is a reward leading to the recovery of the Camera and SLR Magic lens.

I hope 43rumors readers can help him to find the camera again!
