5 days to go until the Panasonic GH5s announcements. Will there be something else too?

Share

In five days (10:00 am PT on January 8) Panasonic will announce the new GH5s. The question is if Panasonic will also announce something else. So far I have not heard of any new lens or accessory that would be announced the same day. But maybe Panasonic will give us some more details about the new 50-200mm f/2.8-4.0 lens that should hit the market in late 2018!

Panasonic G9 test at Trustedreviews: “Panasonic’s best stills camera to date.”

Share

Trustedreviews conclusion:

Overall, Panasonic has done a sterling job with the Lumix G9 and has launched it at a competitive price that represents good value for money. With so much to like and so little to fault, it’s hard to think of a reason why anyone after an insanely fast, lightweight and versatile camera working to a £1500 budget wouldn’t seriously consider the Panasonic Lumix G9.
And  CameraJabber did a test Shooting sport with the Panasonic Lumix G9:

It’s clear from my experience at the rugby that the Panasonic Lumix G9 is a capable sports camera. It doesn’t deliver a 100% hit rate, but it gets the subject sharp on the vast majority of occasions.
It’s worth bearing in mind that I was shooting in relatively low light and low contrast conditions, the camera would have a much easier time of it in clear weather.

Olympus Guide on how to capture fireworks photos

Share

GetOlympus (Click here) published a guide on how to capture brillant fireworks photos.

Here’s a rundown of common adjustmentsmade in the Fireworks Scene Mode:
Shutter speed is set to four seconds, which helps capture the streaming trails of the fireworks.
Sets the ISO to 100 and the f-stop to f11.
Sets the White Balance to 5300K.
Sets the exposure compensation to -1.0 EV. This is a full 1-stop underexposure to keep the firework highlights from burning out.
Sets the color to Vivid, the Saturation to High and the Contrast to Hard, all of these changes help enhance color.
Sets the Sharpness to Soft, which uses minimal sharpening in anticipation of post-processing.
