Olympus 25mm f/1.2 PRO lens designer interview: More f/1.2 lenses are coming!

Share

The Japanese site DC.watch (google translation) interviewed the designers of the Olympus 25mm f/1.2 PRO lens. There is a lot of in deep technical talk about the new lens. The engineers also shared two info about why they did choose the f/1.2 aperture and if there are more fast lenses to come:

  1. It would have been possible to make the lens even faster but the size would have become a lot larger and autofocus a lot slower.
  2. The f/1.2 series is going to be expanded with new lenses. Olympus collected the customers request at the CP+ show

We reported in previous rumors that Olympus already designed two more fast f/1.2 primes. And of them is for sure a new 17mm f/1.2 PRO lens.

Note: The current Olympus 25mm f/1.2 is in Stock at [shopcountry 64545].

The final GH5 test by Max Yuryev and Photo Joseph

Share

Max Yuryev and Photo Joseph worked together to find out the best settings for the GH5 autofocus system. At the end Max revised his previous conclusion that the GH5 autofocus is crap as they managed to improve the performance considerably. But that’s really not Max faults as you almost have to be a Panasonic engineers to find out the right settings :)

GH5 at Amazon, BHphoto, Adorama and Panasonic US. In EU at Amazon.de, Cyberport.de and ParkCamera.
