Hi-Lows-Note spotted two new Panasonic patents. They do describe a tech for on-sensor HDR and PDAF. The PDAF system sort of looks like the Dual Pixel AF that works on Canon mirrorless cameras. This is the best autofocus system for tracking.

E-PL9 already registered at the Bluetooth agency.
On February 7 Olympus is likely to announce the new E-PL9. While I didn’t get specs yet I have been told this is a sort of E-M10 Mark III in PEN version :)

Trusted sources told us that it seems likely that Olympus will announce the new E-PL9 on or around February 7 (depending on your time zone).

E-M1.2 F/W code is being optimized/refined much of which will be incorporated into E-M5.3 F/W.
New/upgraded features/algorithms/codecs are currently being tested as part of the E-M5.3 alpha/beta cycle and most will be made available to the E-M1.2 once finalized.
If his “rumor” is correct we can expect some of the E-M1II firmware update features to be included in the future E-M5III. The E-M5III is likely to be introduced at Photokina in September 2018.
A bunch of trusted soruces confirmed that Olympus will have a product announcement in February. As a reminder: The Cp+ shows starts on March 1.
We can safely assume that the camera that will be announced is the new E-PL9 which has been already registered at the Bluetooth agency. We also heard about a special OMD anniversary model but we got no confirmation yet if this camera will be shown at Cp+ or sometimes later.
