Yet more reviewers fall in love with the Olympus 40-150mm PRO lens :)

ePhotozine tested the 40-150mm PRO lens and writes:

The combination of great build quality and performance alone are enough to recommend this lens. The fact that it offers a unique zoom range, whilst maintaining a fast f/2.8 throughout is even better. It’s capable of delivering excellent image quality too, and is even fairly reasonably priced. For the most part, it handles well too, thanks to its robust build and relative light weight and compact size, although it’s worth noting that it still may be a little large for use with the smallest Micro Four Thirds bodies. On the whole, this lens is an excellent addition to the Micro four Thirds line up, that will win over many fans.

Dicahub posted that interesting comparison between the 40MP and 16MP images shot with the E-M5II:
The image on the top shows the 40mp original image downsampled to 16mp (on the left). It get’s compared with the the “normal” 16MP shot you see on the right.
The image below goes the other way around: shows the 40mp original image (on the left). It get’s compared with the the “upsampled” 16MP to 40MP shot you see on the right.

This is how the E-M5II shutter sounds when you unleash the full 10fps speed!

And if you need to read more about the new camera check out the full review at Mirrorlessons with an additional note on the sensor:

You might wonder if there are other “hidden” improvements such as overall image quality and autofocus performance for stills. Olympus couldn’t confirm to me if the sensor is the same. Regarding image quality you get the same nice colour rendition of Olympus cameras. There is a slightly improved detail rendering at high ISOs thanks to the new TruePic VII Processor.

A great E-M5II video and review from John Brawley.

John Brawley posted that great Vimeo video you can see on top. And there is another Behind The Scenes video you can watch on Vimeo (Click here). And there is an overall E-M5II review on his blog at johnbrawley.wordpress.com. At the end he says:

Olympus are officially in the filmmaking game and this is only their first serious effort at making a camera with appeal to those of us that want our stills cameras to also shoot motion. Although the headline specs might not seem all that impressive compared to others at first glance, you should consider the total package and with their IS it starts to become a really interesting camera for certain applications.  There’s certainly nothing else like it.

Now let’s see what Olympus will do with the E-M1II ;)

Imaging Resource test: Can the new Olympus E-M5II beat the Nikon 36MP resolution?

nikon-em5II

Imaging Resource tested the new Olympus E-M5II 40 megapixel “High resolution Shot” mode and compared it with the Nikon D810 36 MP images:

While the two images are fairly similar in most respects for overall sharpness and clarity, the one clear difference is the lack of moiré in the E-M5 II on the green label, where the D810 produces obvious moiré artifacts. The results at ISO 1600 are equally interesting, even here with in-camera JPEGS and default noise reduction settings. The shadow area at the top right tends to produce ISO noise in most cameras by this time, and while the D810 handles it about as good as most any camera we’ve tested, the E-M5 II also handles it surprisingly well and even produces slightly sharper results in the mosaic tile pattern.

With the obvious limitations (tripod needed, no moving objects) the Olympus 40MP “trick” really seems to work very well!
