In September 2019, Olympus asked me if I wanted to test the yet-to-be-released OM-D E-M5 Mark III camera. With less than 2 weeks notice I figured I needed a project that could test not only the camera but also myself. A project that would show what the camera was capable of and, more importantly, what the camera stands for Freedom and Exploration.
These days, more often than not I get the feeling that the purpose and soul of photography get completely overseen.
I thought I’d set out to create something that went beyond the numbers, stats, and pixel peeping all the keyboard warriors on the Internet always have so much to say about, but instead, go out and just create something.
So, I decided to challenge myself to capture 24 photos in 24h hours that captured the Essence of Belgium, my home country. And then turn around an exhibition of the 24 photos on the following day.
