Panasonic Korea says GX7 is not discontinued yet (althaugh it could be so in other countries)

A couple of weeks ago the Australian store Discountcameras marked the GX7 as “officially discontinued”. There is now a first official statement from Panasonic Korea about that matter. ICinsights camera market predictions: Camera shipments reduced to half by end 2017.

ICinsights (found via MirrorlressRumors) posted an analysis of what could happen with the camera market till end 2017. The overall camera turnover will shrink to a half by end of 2017 compared with the peak reached in 2011.  But the good news for the camera companies is that the System Camera Market is expected to growth. And that’s where companies usually have higher profit margins. As we know from previous Panasonic/Olympus financial reports both companies will focus more on that high-end camera market.

Interesting: If you look at the non conventional camera market the future looks bright. Medical cameras (where Olympus leads the market), Surveillance cameras, car cameras, tablets and smartphone cameras sales are expected to growth further.

a little bit of everything…

Panasonic GH4 – FLO$$

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Review by Steve Digicams.
Sony RX10 vs. Panasonic FZ1000 : duel en basse lumière (Focus Numerique).
GH4 first impression review by Jamie Jansen.
Some thoughts on the GH3 by Duncan Martin.

Michael: Here is my second article about the Olympus E-P5: http://www.qamera.com/2014/07/08/olympus-pen-day-city/. The first one is here: http://www.qamera.com/2014/07/02/olympus-pen-ep5/

Ben:Not a rumor, but a shot I captured with the GH4…http://500px.com/photo/76314327/ So far very happy with the performance of the camera.

Xyl:Hello there, I just finished a new GH4 4K vidéo of Paris. The shots were from daytime to night time. If you’re interested you may go take a look at it on Vimeo.

Julien:Here is a short edit of Freestyle Motocross, a profile of Julien Morel a french FMX rider. Everything is shot with the Panasonic GH3 and couple old lenses. GH4 brings prosumer cams in a new world, but the oldish GH3 is always a very good camera and give really good results. I think that the most powerful camera is your mind! https://vimeo.com/100590796

Heather & Mat: “Last night we quite literally went “shooting for the moon”!  Here we have some 4K footage from the Lumix GH4 of the super moon as it travelled up from the horizon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GocBZ_zerU
