Olympus Northamerica issues an official statement where it promises to repair al E-M10II cameras having a lock pin issue. The full press text can be downloaded as PDF:
Olympus has discovered that the lens lock pin on a small number of OM-D E-M10 Mark II cameras has malfunctioned, causing certain lens es to detach from the mount. No reports of this issue have been received from within North America, however, it has been determined that camera s sold within North America may also be susceptible to this issue when connected to plastic mount lenses. The Olympus lenses that could be affected are limited to five: M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14 – 42mm f3.5 – 5.6 L, 14 – 42mm f3.5 – 5.6 II, 14 – 42mm f3.5 – 5.6 II R, 40 – 150mm f/4.0 – 5.6 and 40 – 150mm f/4.0 – 5.6 R. It is important to be aware that this issue poses no risk of personal injury or property damage other than potentially damaging the lens itself from its detachment from the mount unexpectedly. As a result, Olympus is offering a free inspection and repair program for owne rs of the OM – D E – M10 Mark II with serial numbers located within the limited lots that have been affected

Zeiss just announced a new lens line called “Milvus”. It’s not a MFT related news but it’s also true you can use those lenses on your MFT body by using adapters. And Zeiss said these lenses are optimized for 4K recording and color matched. GH4 owners may be interested in those too! Here are the links to the lens description and preorders:

It’s still too early to be really be sure of that but it really looks like the camera market stabilized after years of fall. The latest July camera shipment report form the Japanese CIPA association seems to confirm that. More detailed charts can be seen at Personal View.
There is yet no info about the specific Olympus and Panasonic sales in those months but from the CIPA report we know mirrorless sales are slightly growing.
What you see on the image above is a new [shoplink 52611 ebay]Zhongyi (Mitakon)[/shoplink] protoype lens. And on paper this really looks like a killer product: It’s a 25mm f/0.95 pancake(!) MFT lens! The fastest most compact lens of the world yet!
There is yet no info on the exact release date but the lens will come in Black (no Silver version). The price will be about the same as the [shoplink 55477 ebay]Voigtlander Nokton 25mm lens (here on eBay)[/shoplink]. But the developer said the optical quality will surpass that of the Voigtlander Nokton competition. It has a 11 lens design and great close up effect. These are the very first image samples. Olympus Japan just issued a statement explaining that it will “pause” the E-M10II sales because of a manufacturing issue. There is yet only a Japanese press text that google translates as follow:
This time, in the digital single-lens camera “OM-D E-M10 Mark II”, in the case of installing a replacement lens of plastic mount on the camera body, we find that there are things the lock is easy to come off.
