Specs of the new Sony 10 Megapixel Four Thirds sensor (for surveillance)

This isn’t a sensor made for MFT cameras. But it is still interestiong to see what kind of new tech Sony is implementing on this new Four Thirds sensor made for surveillance cameras:

“The “IMX294CJK” is the first in-house image sensor for security cameras to adopt the Type 4/3 format, and realizes output of the number of pixels needed for 4K at 120 frame/s (in ADC 10-bit output mode). In addition, use of a large-size pixel achieves SNR1s of 0.14 lx*1, and use of a Quad Bayer pixel structure (see Figure 1) realizes an HDR (High Dynamic Range) function with no time difference, enabling video imag-ing with a wide dynamic range”

Panasonic announces a new GH5 firmware bug fix update (version 2.1)

That was quick from Panasonic! They just releases the new 2.1 firmware update which fixes a list of bugs:

  1. [Power Save LVF Shooting] was automatically set to [1 sec].
    (This makes the camera go into sleep mode in 1 sec in a standby mode.)

    * [Power Save LVF Shooting] will be set to [OFF] when the firmware Ver.2.0 is updated to Ver.2.1.
    If you would like to enable [Power Save LVF Shooting], please set it on manually by selecting a designated time.
  2. The parameters of picture quality adjustment in Photo Style were all set to -5 when setting the recording mode to [MP4 HEVC(AAC)]. This bug has been fixed.
    * The parameters of picture quality adjustment in Photo Style will be reset to ±0 when the firmware Ver.2.0 is updated to Ver.2.1.
    If you would like to adjust the picture quality in Photo Style, please adjust them manually.
  3. There were cases where [V-LogL View Assist] did not work, This bug has been fixed.
  4. There were cases where motion pictures recorded in [AVCHD] cannot be divided. This bug has been fixed.
