Weird: No Panasonic announcements so far this year

A bit unusual for Panasonic is the fact that they did not announce any new product at the start of this new year. N new MFT or L mount camera or lens at all has been unveiled. SonyAlphaRumors made this list of products announce in January-February:

Panasonic (0 products announced):
no product announced (a part of a new L-mount lens roadmap).

Maybe Panasonic (and Olympus) decided to shift the product launch focus at Photokina in May. But the coronavirus outbreak may will mess with their plans as I expect productiion shortages accross the industry :(

Olympus is reported to not have production issues yet…

The Japanese website Newswitch published a detailed report about the effect of the Coronavirus induced production stop in China. Olympus and Nikon are reported to have no issues yet as their production facilities are outside Japan. Still “New products are being released on the same schedule as announced, but as many logistics have stopped in China, the company is closely watching the effects of the future.”

Lats year Olympus had to report a financial loss because of the move of their camera factory from China to Vietnam. Well, they had a luck with the timing!
