Olympus interview at DC:watch: They talk as they wouldn’t have sold the imaging business

DC.watch interviewed (part 1 and part 2) the Olympus managers and engineers behind th 150-400mm lens development. There is obviously a lot of deep technical talk about the lens. At the end of the interview DC:watch asked them about the future of Olympus and their answer is (google translated):

We want to combine the elements of small size, light weight, and environmental resistance with the merits of the Micro Four Thirds system itself to further sharpen our strength of being able to go anywhere with our hands. think. Of course, we will continue to pursue high image quality. I have always wanted to be able to take better pictures so that customers can take pictures that they couldn’t take before, and I think that will continue to be the same.

As nothing would have happened in the meantime :)

a bit of everything…

Ben:

I recently produced a video I thought might be of interest to yourself and your readers. I set myself the challenge of capturing a cinematic sequence with one restriction…I could only use focal lengths of 100mm or greater. I feel that like a lot of filmmakers, I tend to use wide lenses a lot of the time, so wanted to learn more about the purpose of long lenses and the unique shots that they can achieve. It was a fun experiment and my little girl was very patient while I asked her to walk up a hill…again and again and again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwM5A2KN9JQ
