Introduces 8K Organic Sensor innovation

Panasonic will also be demonstrating its latest 8K Organic Sensor technology at IBC 2019. Designed for wide camera angle shots with high resolution, the sensor is set to revolutionise commercial sports and live event coverage.

With first commercial use anticipated at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, the organic sensor technology has a number of competitive advantages. It comes with a wide dynamic range delivering more colours and higher quality images than ever before. Its Electronic Neutral Density Filter (ENDF) can reduce or introduce light more smoothly than its traditional Optical Neutral Density (OND) counterparts and its innovative Global Shutter delivers advantages over current Rolling Shutters by removing the skew when shooting fast moving images and eliminating flashband from still camera lighting at live events and press conferences.

Key features
  • Features an 8K full-size CMOS image sensor
  • Up to four separate HD videos can be cropped from a high-resolution, wide-angle 8K image, and each cropped image can be panned, tilted and zoomed individually
  • Automatic wide-angle distortion correction function removes, in real time, distortion of images cropped from the periphery
  • A recommended remote controller can be used for the pan, tilt and zoom control of cropped images (compatible with AK-HRP1000 / AK-HRP1005 ROP)
  • Up to eight 8K Multi-Purpose Camera units can be linked for cropping a maximum of 32 different HD videos

43rumors note: This  is a groundbreaking new sensor tech but it will take years before we see it on a “normal” Micro Four Thirds camera.

STC Announce Clip Filter Range for Panasonic, Z-Cam and Blackmagic Design Camera Systems

STC’s latest announcement is certain to delight filmmakers and photographers alike as the new range is compatible with not only the Panasonic Lumix M4/3 camera system but also the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (BMPCC) and the small-yet-perfectly-formed Z Cam E2 4K Cinema Camera. This, fifth-generation series from STC focuses on superior quality with its manufacture, producing imaging results that speak for themselves. With more than a decade of market-leading R&D leading to the series, the structure of these Clip Filters has been improved and optimised to perform better than ever.
The Panasonic M43 Clip Filter is designed to sit on the front side of the shutter mechanism and as such, will not affect the Ibis anti-shake function and with its perfectly sealed structure, will also protect the camera’s sensor from dust.

The new Clip Filter Series for Panasonic LUMIX, Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (BMPCC) and the Z Cam E2 4K Cinema Camera Includes:
● Sensor Protector Filter
● Neutral Density (ND) Filter: ND16 (4-stop) – ND64 (6-stop) – ND400 (9-stop)
– ND1000 (10-stop). ND8 (3-stop) coming mid-October

One Filter – Any Lens!
As with all of STC’s stunning Clip Filters, the new range of Panasonic LUMIX M43 Clip Filters are completely safe and extremely simple to use, giving users the option to shoot with the lens of their choice. This, by its very nature, demonstrates significant cost savings, completely eliminating the need to purchase multiple filters in differing sizes to fit various lenses.
Opening up a world of greater shooting opportunities, the new Panasonic LUMIX M43 Clip Filters from STC can be combined with STC’s traditional circular filters to give creatives a broader palette of artistic and practical possibilities.

Built for Professionals
All STC Clip Filters are manufactured in high-quality SCHOTT® B270 Optical Glass and A2 stainless steel, which is virtually non-magnetic, and finished with double-sided NANO Anti-smudge coating to guarantee excellent water and grease-proofing performance.

Innovation in Imaging
Since their first arrival, STC’s Clip Filters have been causing a stir within the global image-making community. The brand’s superior coatings and optical qualities are second to none. Couple this with the cost-saving that comes with the product’s ‘One Filter – Any Lens’ message and the result is hard to resist!

William Wu, CEO and Lead Design Engineer, STC, said:

“We are excited to watch as both photographers and videographers use our new Clip Filters for Panasonic LUMIX M43 camera systems for the first time. Whilst many photographers see in-body filter systems as new technology, the filmmaking industry has been using these kinds of filters for many years. We believe that producing Clip Filters for Panasonic LUMIX’s M43 mount, and by default, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and the Z Cam E2 4K Cinema Camera, we are delivering a perfect solution for videographers who are opting for these small-form camera systems. The benefits are huge, with the ability to ‘pair’ filters, or to simply use traditional circular filters on the front of the lens, coupling with our sensor protector Clip Filter. Whichever you choose, the creative possibilities are endless.”
