Dpreview: A tribute to the Olympus OM-1 on its 50th anniversary

Dpreview published a tribute article for the Olympus OM-1 on its 50th anniversary:

As we’ve covered before, the Olympus OM-1 wasn’t the original plan. Olympus designer Yoshihisa Maitani had originally conceptualized and eventually developed a prototype for a camera that we now know was called the Olympus OM-X. This camera was similar in style to Hasselblad cameras, but used 35mm film instead of the 120 rolls its medium format counterpart used.

3D printed lens from Witono

Witono wrote me:

Just want to share my 3D printing project during lockdown.

The lens is designed for the EF mount full frame. To use on m4/3, I used a Viltrox 0.71x focal reducer. In most cases, the focal reducer does not produce a sharper image as opposed to the advertising claims. But in this case, I noticed that the image produced with a focal reducer did produce a slightly sharper image.

Hope you enjoy watching this project as much as I making it.
