It reminds me a bit of the old Olympus Air A01 “camera” (listed here at BHphoto). It wasn’t very successful, so I don’t know why it would work this time around for this idea.

Here is a short film I shot on the Olympus E-M1X + 40mm and 65mm Vazen 1.8X T2 Anamorphic lenses for OM System.
Everything was captured with the Atomos Ninja V in ProRes RAW to get most out of the E-M1X sensor. Since there’s no open-gate mode on the E-M1X, you end up with an ultra-wide image once you de-squeeze the 16:9 image. Personally, I love panoramic aspect ratios, so I decided to leave it without cropping in on the image. It also leaves in all the characteristics you get around the edges of an anamorphic lens, which I love.
