Rare finding: Rayxar 50mm f/0,75 on the Olympus E-PL5

[shoplink 56547 ebay]rayxaroly[/shoplink]

It’s the first time in nine years I see this. Image samples of the rare Rayxar 50mm f/0.75 super fast lens shot on the Olympus E-PL5 have been posted by Anadrasi on his [shoplink 56547 ebay]eBay auction page (Click here to see the images)[/shoplink].

That lens is massive and absolutely sexy on the E-PL5.  But I am not sure you can get anything in focus at full aperture!

Haruo Ogawa (Olympus) says fast primes and 4K camera are coming!

Focus Numerique interviewed Haruo Ogawa from Olympus. And here are just some of the key info he spilled out:

More Megapixels? For most of our clients 16MP is sufficient. But in certain situations, this is not enough.

The issue with Full Frame: With a 24×36 sensor, the optics are still very impressive and heavy enough. We believe that at Olympus housings must be compact, but the optic must also be more consistency.

New lenses: We will focus on very bright optical lenses.

What needs to be improved with the EVF: We have to go below 6 milliseconds for the human eye can not be bothered. If we can improve the response time, then the electronic viewfinder will be better than the optical viewfinder.

Autofocus: In the near future, we will further improve this hybrid (AF) system.

4K: In the near future, we will try to have a camera with a video mode 4K.

I am particularly excited to learn more about the fast primes!

(FT5) Panasonic-Leica 100-400mm lens will be released in February for around $2,500!

Leica-DG-100-400mm-lens

Our reader Redmosquite spotted an interesting video interview with Panasonic Sweden. It says:

“Panasonic 100-400mm info from Swedish photo fair, comes in late february, priced at 22-23000 SEK which in Sweden is about the same price as the GX8 + 12-35mm kit. another reference is the Panasonic Lecia Nocticron which cost 15000 SEK in Sweden, so It will be really expensive. “

Considering the [shoplink 56494 ebay]Nocticron price is around $1,600[/shoplink] it means the lens will cost around $2,500.

Will you buy the Panasonic-Leica 100-400mm for $2,500?
