(FT5) Yes, the Olympus E-M1III uses the same 20MP E-M1X sensor

The new E-m1III that will be announced in mid February will use the same 20,4MP E-m1X sensor. To recap this is what we know so far:

  • E-M1III to be announced in mid Feburary…maybe with the new 12-40mm f/4.0 lens
  • 20.4 sensor
  • E-M1III Has one more joystick
  • Same battery as E-M1II
  • New processor
  • Can do Handheld High Resolution shots

(FT4) Olympus will also launch the new 12-45mm f/4.0 MFT lens with the E-M1III ?

Olympus roadmap (Click on image to enlarge)

I am 100% sure in mid February we will get the new E-M1III. But there is also a 50% chance we might get the new 12-45mm f/4.0 MFT lens too! Hope I can confirm this via other sources soon…

It’s unclear yet if Olympus will also announce the final pricing of the 150-400mm MFT lens (image below). I heard this lens will be production ready for this summer only :(

First images of the new Laowa 50mm f/2.8 MFT lens and info about five more new Venus Optics lenses

We got that image of a new 50mm f/2.8 MFT lens. No info about pricing and exact availability yet.

CameraBeta reports that Venus Optics will announce six new Laowa branded lenses in 2020:

9mm f/5.6
11mm f/4.5
14mm f/4.0
15mm f/4.5 shift lens
50mm f/2.8
65mm macro

All of them should be available as native MFT mount version too. One more thing: CameraBeta reports that the new ARGUS f/0,95 line will be a series of lenses!
