UPDTAED-> Some more Samsung NX-10 details…
Apparently the Samsung NX-10 with 18-55mm will cost 700 Euro or $800. That’s a lot cheaper than the Panasonic GH1 and I don’t know if we should expect a GH1 price drop soon (we already had a -$250 price drop in amazon US)
In the meanwhile dpreview posted some new NX-10 images. Try to compare it with the images taken with the Olympus E-P1. Let me know what your first impressions are!
UPDATE:
Where does the NX-10 lack against the Panasonic include("buy/gh1.php"); ?>?
It has no 50/60p and no 1080 recording.
Sound is mono only.
AF doesn’t work in video mode. UPDATE: This is wrong, AF works!
No swivel LCD.
And no video optimazied lenses.
P.S.: The Panasonic 14-140mm f/4.0-5.8 OIS Micro Four Thirds Lens is in Stock at amazon.

3 years ago |Wow the one image of a toy car at ISO 1600 looks remarkably clean with even good amounts of detail (If you view at 100% you can see some dust on the car). I’m not sure if my G1 can pull off results that good?

3 years ago |The images look pretty good, but look at the piano 1600 image. Download the image, and look at it at 100%. Lots of yellow blotches. That is likely to mean it won’t hold up well in post product with levels and color adjustments, though this is the jpg not RAW and it is pre-production.

3 years ago |The images taken with the beta NX10 don’t convince me for one instant. Let’s see if the production models do any better.
High ISO is poor with a lot of color blotches. Any m43 12MP camera will do better at one stop over.
The camera doens’t even come close to the rumored specs so these will be skipping news to me.
YeahYeah
3 years ago |Well, the GH1 is expensive because of the 14-140 lens. If they were selling it with the 14-45 (18-55 equivalent), I guess I would not be that expensive…

3 years ago |No AF video in video mode? That’s stupid. It’s 2010 where is the video AF and where are the hover cars?

3 years ago |30fps only? no 24 or 25fps? manual controls on video? what about video codec bitrate?
A GH1 without lens should have a similar price.

3 years ago |Seems like the EP-1 images have more life, better contrast, and are sharper. The greens seem to be overdone in the NX shots too. The EP-1 seems to do better even at 1600 and 3200. It says alot about the Olympus kit lenses. The NX-10 images seem to be just ok, as if they came from an entry level camera with a so-so lens.
‘Some’ of these things may be fixable in PP or after a firmware update.

3 years ago |I’m absolutely thrilled to have an alternative with a bigger sensor. Fourthirds is a bit small for my taste (less latitude + bokeh potential).
A fullframe AF camera in this formfactor would be even better. Let’s see what the next few months will bring!

3 years ago |Let me know where you can buy 700 euros for $800 US

3 years ago |Hi Mike! I know perfectly that $1 corresponds to 0,6963 Euro. But you have to calculate other variables such as VAT difference etc. Do you need a real example? The GF1 costs $900 in the US and 800 Euro in Europe. If you would only consider the change rate the GF1 should cost 627 Euro. Is it clear now?
