Seb Farges GH2 videos taken with the Nikkor 10mm and Canon 13mm.
Seb Farges is a film director who uses the Panasonic GH2. And he particularly likes to use cheap third party lenses. The video on top has been made using the C-mount Canon 35mm 1.2 and Cine-NIKKOR 10mm 1.8 lenses. I like it a lot! One more new video made with the C-mount Canon and the Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 can be seen here: http://www.vimeo.com/21228832

3 years ago |Very nice colors but I have to say that the numerous little jerky handheld camera shakes a bit annoying.
Ahem
3 years ago |I couldn’t stand the shakycam for more than a minute as I started getting nauseated – he needs to invest in a steadicam or at least a shoulder rig if he insists on handholding.
And in my book one is not a “film” director unless one is on IMDb.

3 years ago |Yeah he’s no fim maker that you’ll ever see listed with NetFlix or on your cable’s pay-per-view channel. And the sound was just annoying and dissonant noise IMO. As for this artistic video clip, if you turn off the distracting background noise and actually look at it – well – He apparently left his GH2 on AWB and auto-ISO and just fired away handheld while devoting most of his attention to playing with the focus ring to see how cool it was to go in and out of focus sometimes in apparent synchronization with the ‘music’. Very impressive – NOT!

3 years ago |I appreciate the work: but I’m no motion cameraman, so can’t comment on his skills.
To me, the way he filmed it really suited the piece of music. Did I “like” either? Well, I had to stop halfway through, because it’s nearly bedtime, and it reminds me too much of some of my worse dreams……
Well done!

3 years ago |If you took the time to look at his other work, who would have know that Seb has created some amazing stuff with the Panasonic camera. Thank god his work won’t be showing up on netflix and useless pay-per-vew channels.

He made really good use of the light and the subjects. I barely noticed the “handheld” aspect of the piece, because I was completely taken by the subject. To me, this indicates a triumph of technique, as the technique disappeared into the art.

3 years ago |Seb Farges is an awesome video artist with excellent shooting/editing.
His Vimeo channel is very inspiring and full of original stuff, check it out if you don’t have any inner-ear balance problems (joke). It’s mostly hand-held but the shakyness suits his style, very raw, first person and close to people.
I for one, love it.
