Today Panasonic announced the specs of three new sensors.

Of course we expect all that tech to be used by future digital system and fixed Lumix cameras too. So let’s take a closer look to all three sensors:

1) Organic sensor 1:

Panasonic develops 10times Higher Saturation & Highly Functional Global Shutter Technology by controlling of Organic-Photoconductive-Film on CMOS Image Sensor

2) Organic sensor #2:

Panasonic Develops Industry-First*1 123dB Simultaneous-Capture Wide-Dynamic-Range Technology using Organic-Photoconductive-Film CMOS Image Sensor

3) APD sensor:

According to Nikkei the primary business of that APD sensor is the automotive industry. Nikkei reports:

Panasonic says it has developed an image sensor 100 times as sensitive to light as existing technology, enabling self-driving cars to spot pedestrians, traffic signals and other objects instantly even at night. The Japanese manufacturer aims to have a practical version ready as early as 2020 or so.

One more thing: The organic sensor tech is developed in conjunction with Fuji. I just hope Panasonic-Fuji organic sensor will be soon ready for production!
