How to get refurbished Olympus stuff in Europe (I bought my white E-P1 with lens for 201 Euro)
Better late than never! Finally I found a place where we Europeans can get tons of refurbished Olympus stuff. I just bought my second white Olympus E-P1 with lens for 201 Euro only (Click here to see that item). That’s less than half the price of a high end compact camera with small sensor like the Panasonic LX5). The silver E-P1 with lens sells for 30 Euro less (Click here)! I highly recommend the E-P1. It has a high quality body (it feels solid) and takes amazing JPG pictures. Yes, there are other cameras with faster AF, that do have built-in flash and better High-ISO performance. But for 170-200 Euro you can’t buy anything better than this!
What does it mean “refurbished”? “Refurbished products cannot be sold as new products, which is why they are relabeled as refurbished or refreshed units even if they are good-as-new (if, for example, the unit was returned for some reason unrelated to the product itself, such as the customer changing their mind about the color). Refurbished items may have scratches, dents or other forms of cosmetic damage which do not affect the performance of the unit.” (Source: Wikipedia).
I also looked for Panasonic refurbished items and didn’t find everything. Do you know where I can get them? P.S.: And where can we find US and asian stores with refurbished items?
A few items you can buy right now:
- The Olympus E-PL1 double kit (Click here).
- The Olympus E-5 camera (Click here).
- The Olympus 9-18mm lens (Click here).
To see al current auctions just click on one of the links above and than on the resellers name “Olympusmarket”.

3 years ago |These guys have been selling the refurbished E-PL1 cameras since last year, I bought one myself for about 220 Euro….. service was fast, and the camera was in as new condition.
I did however then sell the camera few months later (for a profit too!) as I was frustrated with the speed of operation (a shame as the image quality was nice).

Good idea, but this might destroy our chance to get those cameras at low prices.

Most time, the equipment you can buy there is as expensive(or cheap) as it is in the netherlands.
Definitely too much for an auction on ebay!

3 years ago |Agreed, I´ve been watching them for quite a while now. The Oly m.Zuiko 9-18mm for example always (9/10 times) sells for around 440 euro´s (for a refurbished… while the cheapest new one is 450 in The Netherlands).

I am looking for the m4/3 9-18mm. Can you say where you see them for 450 euros please.

3 years ago |Thanks, I’m a 43 rumors reader since a year, and I bought my first m43 camera through this ebay shop because of you, with a 17mm lens and a flash.

2 years ago |I used them to buy an E-P1 too – great! However, a word of warning, they do NOT ship to Switzerland!!!!! Why I just don’t understand, Switzerland is not in the EU but it has agreements with the EU on everything including import duties, VAT, etc. Also, if you do have a problem with the Olympus Market – telephone them, their e-mail responses take ages and are often misleading or incorrect, I know from experience
Once you get the camera though, it is in perfect condition, just like a new one, I am happy.
