Our opinion:
Our sources told us the compact Micro Four Thirds Panasonic camera will have EVF and NO in body IS. The image is a FAKE ! But may close to the real camera…

3 years ago |I hope this is true. I know the G1 & GH1 are both really good cameras, but I simply couldn’t get past the look of them. If I wanted a Canon Rebel I’d buy a Canon Rebel.

3 years ago |As the proud owner of the Panasonic LC-1, it is little to say that I hope that this fake image is close from the actual forthcoming m43 camera. Still skeptical though: the recent Panasonic are uniformly ugly (hence ”mainstream”, see G1 / GH1) to my taste. On top of this, the exceptional build quality of the LC-1 has its price: something circa 1600 USD upon release.

3 years ago |Panasonic can deliver, but they don’t want to due to strong Yen compared to the other currency. They can’t make money selling those thin profit high-end camera overseas, so they decided to export cheap cameras only.

Boyz n girlz, if it’s true, I’m selling my Canon gear. The DMC-LC1 is a fabulous camera, I used one for 3 years. I only wished for:
- higher resolution with bigger sensor for DOF
- interchangeable lenses (Leica M or dedicated)
- better EVF
I can’t see the pop-up flash on this one, though. The one on the LC-1 with the bounce option was a stunner. I actually regretted selling that baby and decided to buy the successor if there is one. However, Pana has not matched that beast yet.
The Digilux-3 with the porro finder was a dead end, and hugely overpriced.
G1 and GH1 — good concept but the ugliest buggers ever (red and blue body? Yuck)
Fingers crossed it is true. Countdown on the microsite says twoo weeks and a bit to go.
