(UPDATED)a little bit of everything…

Today we begin our ” a little bit of everything…” post announcing the new Cosina NOKTON 50mm F1.1. Should interest all the people who owns or wants to own a Panasonic/Olympus MicroFourThirds camera. Price 130.000 YEN which is more or less 995 Euro or 1.355 Dollar! That’s incredible cheap compared to the Konica 50/1.2 or Leica 50/1.0 lenses! That lens appeals me, because of the price and because of the size (it is far more tiny than the Nokton 35/1.2). I hope the quality will be decent.
UPDATE: One image taken with the lens is avaiable at flickr! And a report made by a photographer! It seems to be a very good and very sharp lens!

4 years ago |Well, 6 months ago, I’ve bought a Konica 57mm F1.2 for US$ 187.50$ + 35$ shipping. The lens had the tiniest spot on the font coating smaller than the size of a pin head without any effect on IQ whatsoever,
Considering this lens is Highly Regarded by some sources as the sharpest superfast lens available: http://www.buhla.de/Foto/Konica/Objektive/e57_12.html
All this to say you needn’t spend anywhere close to 4 digits if you buy used and MF.

4 years ago |I wonder if this lens is going to be truly sharp on a fourthirds camera. I assume it is designed for 35 mm full frame.

4 years ago |My Konica is predictably softer wide open (even though I’ve seen some pictures from the Leica Noctilux, and I would say mine is sharper).
From F2 onwards, I find it sharp enough on my 10MP Olympus E-510.

4 years ago |I have a Konica 40/1.8 converted for fourthirds. While this lens is quite sharp from f/2.8 and up, it is really too soft at f/1.8. That’s why I’m a bit sceptical about converted legacy lenses. I mean, if I can only use it from f/2.8 and upwards, I could just as well use the DZ pancake and get autofocus too.
