May CIPA report shows 36% increase in system camera shipments

There is a small hope that 2017 may be finally the year Olympus and Panasonic will have to worry a bit less about the future of the camera market. According to CIPA in May Japanese companies did ship 36% more system cameras than the previous year. But the old glorious time will definitely not come back. This is why all companies will slow down their release cycle and keep their focus on more profitable higher end models. But in such a small market if you do a mistake you are out. I wonder what long term plan Panasonic and Olympus managers are having in their heads…
