(FT4) GH5s has a new multiaspect sensor and no IBIS?

Share

A reliable source sent me this info. Please be aware that so far I couldn’t double check this. But the source was right with past rumors so there is a fair chance he might be correct on this one too:

The GH5S will make use of a new, multi aspect ratio sensor and subsequently lose the IBIS system. It would seem to be confirmed that it will be using Sony’s IMX294CJK sensor.
This is one of the biggest changes to come from the new variant. Designed to work in higher budget production’s alongside the EVA1, even using the EVA1’s dual native ISO system (800 & 2500).

Thanks!

Olympus 17mm f/1.2 PRO review by Robin Wong: “of the three F1.2 lenses this is my personal favourite”

Share

Robin Wong posted the full review of the new Olympus 17mm f/1.2 PRO lens on Ming Thein’s site:

The Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm F1.2 PRO changed my perspective of working with this focal length, especially considering I did not expect to fall in love with this lens.

The lens is incredibly sharp even when shooting wide open. The sharpness is uniform from edge to edge. The bokeh is beautiful and soft, resulting in pleasing and natural looking images. Technical flaws are well controlled with no noticeable distortion, minimal chromatic aberration and good flare control. AF is speedy and reliable. the lens just works and it exceeded my expectations.

Of the three F1.2 lenses, I am surprised to conclude that this 17mm F1.2 is my personal favourite.

45mm at Amazon, BHphoto, Adorama and GetOlympus.
