It will be interesting to see if that will really increase the MicroFourThirds sales. UPDATE: What is a global shutter?
“With Global/Synchronous Shutter, all rows in the ROI are reset then exposed simultaneously for a specified time. At the end of the exposure/integration time, each pixel value is transferred immediately to an adjacent storage area to await read-out. The pixel values are then read out row-by-row from storage, building the frame. This use of intermediate storage reduces the gradual overexposure that can occur down the image when the rows are read out directly from the active area.
Because all rows are exposed simultaneously, Global Shutter avoids jagged or blurred affect produced by Rolling Shutter for fact action images. However, because it stops exposure to perform read-out, it does not provide the fastest possible sequence of frames. ”

According to our sources Olympus is already working on two new MicroFourThirds cameras. The first camera to be released should be a PEN and the second camera should be the long awaited very high-end MicroFourThirds model. Both will be announced within the year. The High-End model will arrive later (and Photokina fits perfectly for such a camera announcement).
A new High-End PEN makes sense because the newly announced Olympus E-PL1
According to our sources also new prime lenses should come by late 2010. Probably the 50mm (f/2.0 ?) lens will be the first of the series.
One more thing about Panasonic. We are certain Panasonic will launch the GH2 on Photokina but we have no information about the GF2. One new source told us that Panasonic is planning to release the GF2 months after Photokina. But this is a unreliable rumor. I hope one of my trusted sources can tell me more :)
This rumor is a FAKE!!!
The Canon wedding shooter Jeff Ascough just revealed that he is testing a brand new rangefinder. I highly doubt that he is talking about a Canon camera. Not one of our sources ever heard something about it.
