Best sold MFT lens gets discount: 20mm for $335 at Amazon.

Share

The likely most popular MFT lens got a nice discount at Amazon (Click here). There are only eight left and sold by Amazon itself for $335 (previously it was $399). And it quickly jumped on first place of the mirrorless sales rankings (Click here to see).

More deals and in Stock info:
The GH3 is in Stock at Amazon (Click here). But to see how well it sells you have to watch the DSLR and not the mirrorless ranking (Click here). I guess Amazon (or Panasonic) consider it as DSLR competitor.

Joe Gunawan:Hi! Would you consider the next time you run the “little bit of everything” section if you can run my Beauty for All Seasons beauty shoot? The mFT system doesn’t get much buzz for its fashion and commercial stills application, so I’d like to show how great lighting and production can create a professional look.

Interestingly, I shot Spring and Autumn back when I had the GH2. I used the 75mm with those two. By the time I show Summer and Winter, I had the GH3 and the 35-100mm. The difference in quality between the two cameras is very noticeable in stills.
You can see more of my fashion and commercial work at my website: www.fotosiamo.com
Almost all the images are shot with an mFT camera. Cheers!

Artem Yumashev:I’m from Russia. I would like to share music video to you. This is first clip work. I used a Gh2 with Driftwood hack: https://vimeo.com/60935605

Keith:I’m a regular reader of your website, and appreciate everything you do to keep us informed about the latest news for these cameras. I completed a short film shot on my GH2 a couple months ago and hope you might be willing to share it the next time you do an ‘a little bit of everything’ post. https://vimeo.com/57530338

He hecho un pequeño tutorial de uso del flash en fotografía macro a mano (sin trípode), el enlace es éste: http://www.flickr.com/groups/olympus-e500/discuss/72157633121959711/. Xiyu:I did another editing of a short video of Lyon. I shoot the sequences by GH3 in the end of year 2012 in 1080p 50fps at 50Mbps. When I smooth down the video shots into 50% speed it looks very natural. By the way I tuned the colour so it’s not the native colour of GH3. The link of the video is http://vimeo.com/62709090

Jesse:You’ve heard about the Movi? Did you see that there is footage shot with the GH3 on a Movi? It’s here: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/movi (It costs $3 but it goes to charity).
I also got to see the Movi in use first-hand and blogged about it here:

Anonymous:Lens & Shutter in Vancouver (Canada) has a Zuiko 300/2.8 E-ED for sale at $4999, $2000 off regular price (!!!).  It’s part of a lens sale that runs from today until April 30. There is only one in stock, and the company doesn’t ship outside of Canada, but I figured a fellow Canadian 43rumors reader might appreciate this info. http://lensandshutter.com/products.lasso?productid=3850

My little project How To (Slidoo.com).

Share

Click here to see the full Comic!

Almost three months ago I told you about my little new project named Slidoo.com. I did this because I wanted to have a reliable track of the stuff I search on eBay. I spent a lot of time on fixing bugs and speeding up the search. Now, if you want to know what Slidoo is and how it works I created this Cartoon How To: https://www.slidoo.com/page/how-it-works. I hope it’s funny and clear enough to make you understand how it works!

I make you some examples of searches I saved to get notified on great ebay deals:

1) Nokton 25mm in Europe (Click here). Every couple of months few dealers from France or Poland have a Stock of new Nokton lenses for less than 650 Euro! That’s why I saved this search to get notified when this happens.
2) Olympus 75mm f/1.8 lens in US (Click here). And once in while I also find some great new or near new Olympus lens for less than the regular price of $899.
3) Panasonic GH3 in USA (Click here). Hot in US because of the limited availability of the camera!
4) Refurbished E-M5 in Europe (Click here). Every time Olympus sell refurbished E-M5 I know it :)

Thanks for joining!!!

P.S.: Slidoo Amazon
Like on eBay we have direct access to the Amazon Database throught heir API. But we noticed plenty of bugs and inconsistent results and we are working to add our own filters and rules to fix that. It’s quite a long work and I hope we can launch the Slidoo Amazon version in May

(FT5) E-P5 and (FT2) E-PL6 coming?

Share

(FT4) Two anonymous sources contacted me to say that the camera with the codename “TRAD2” is the new “Olympus E-P5“! And this is a premium camera that comes in black, silver and white. And it’s true that there will be two kits, one with the new 17mm f/1.8 lens and one with the 14-42mm.

(FT2) I have been told by one new anonymous source that the E-PL6 has only little improvements over the actual E-PL5.Still no trusted sources confirmed that rumor yet. So it’s FT2 only (see ranking explanation on bottom of this post).

Stay tuned on 43rumors! This is a hot rumor time! And to not miss any of them follow us on facebook (Click here to subscribe) and twitter (Click here to follow us).

Reminder: The E-PL5 is currently discounted in USA:

Olympus cameras:
– E-PM2 body for $399 at Amazon, Adorama and BHphoto. That’s $50 off!
– E-PM2 with kit lens for $449 at Amazon, Adorama and BHphoto. That’s $50 off!
– E-PL5 body for $499 at Amazon, Adorama and BHphoto. That’s $50 off!
– E-PL5 with kit lens for $549 at Amazon, Adorama and BHphoto. That’s $50 off!

Olympus lenses:
– Olympus 14-150mm for $499 at Amazon, Adorama and BHphoto. That’s $100 off!
– Olympus 9-18mm for $599 at Amazon, Adorama and BHphoto. That’s $100 off!
– Olympus 17mm f/2.8 for $199 at Amazon, Adorama and BHphoto. That’s $100 off!

And from all these new offers the 9-18mm lens seems to be the most sold according to Amazon Ranking.

Rumors classification explained (FT= FourThirds):
FT1=1-20% chance the rumor is correct
FT2=21-40% chance the rumor is correct
FT3=41-60% chance the rumor is correct
FT4=61-80% chance the rumor is correct
FT5=81-99% chance the rumor is correct

Metabones Speed Booster adapter for MFT delayed.

Share

The launch of the Speed Booster adapter for Micro Four Thirds has been delayed. Metabones writes: “We apologize but the m4/3 schedule is slipping. Manual focus lenses such as Nikon, Leica R, Contax C/Y, Contarex, ALPA and Rollei will be supported in the second half of 2013. Canon EF lens (but not EF-S) support is planned in the future, but we do not have an estimated date yet.

The reason for the delay is almost certainly the incredible success of the E and X mount Speed Booster orders. And to better understand why that adapter is so special watch the very well made video by TheCameraStoreTV that I embedded on top of that article!

Here are the links to the lenses you can find on eBay and that will be supported by the Speed Booster MFT adapter:
