    Fair move, considering the rumors about Sony NEX prices.

  • Will

    The ad’s meaning would change entirely if the model holding the camera was a man.

  • Will

    Sorry, sorry.

  • killian

    @Will: too funny! haha

  • Miroslav

    The start of the price war. We’ll know more on May 11th …

    The EP2 (with 14-42 + VF-2 viewfinder) is also down to $899 on Amazon right now. It is not in stock (ships May 5th) but it still lets you order… which I did. All the other reputable sites still seem to list this at $1000-$1100 so I’m not sure if it is a one-off, Amazon-only deal or what.

    Regardless, if you factor in $250 for the VF-2, that is only $100 more than the EPL-1. I would have loved the built-in flash, but not at the expense of the 1/4000 shutter, the manual controls and the overall nicer fit and finish.

    HaHa! Will, that was a great comment. Thanks for the laugh. Guess they’re getting ready for the Sony Nex.

    OMG my jaw dropped when I saw this.
    What a horribly patronising and sexist advertisement! Are women in the US really that useless? I didn’t think so. If it’s supposed to be tongue-in-cheek it’s a big FAIL.
    To be honest it’s just as well we won’t have the ad in Europe because I’m not sure it would go down well at all.
    Come to think of it, as a dumb woman I’m glad I bought the GF1 as a complement to my Oly DSLR ;-)
