Surprise! OM Digital released this new lens roadmap. Here are the two new lenses:

• Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F1.4 PRO
• Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F4.0 PRO

And three more teased lenses with no specs:

• macro in the 100mm focal length range
• Two telephoto rooms in the 50-150mm lens range.

GH6 specs at BHphoto

A source told us this:

GH6 will be released Q1 2022
AND will include some sort of hybrid AF

I am sure Panasonic will share more GH6 specs this autumn but with the worldwide chip shortage it’s very likely you will get the camera in your hands by early 2022 only. I guess hybrid AF means we can expect to get both: phase and contrast detection AF!

Another source told me about a possible nw lens coming in 2022:

there will be 40-150 f/4 next year

Would be nice ot hae a lighter, more compact and cheaper version of the excellent 40-150mm f/2.8 lens (image on top)!

Two sources told me that starting from autumn we will see a rebranding of the OM camera lineup. One of the sources told me this:

there will be rebranding from OM-D E-M to OM 1D, OM 5D, OM 10D etc.

there will be new lens announced this year: 20mm f/1.4 (it will start new future series of f/1.4 lenses)

this is a new source but he also shared me some other info I know it’s true. So this may become true indeed!

OM Digital Manager Nils Häussler dropped quite a teaser. At the very end of this interview he said we should:

“Expect new products but also new “projects” to be announced in autumn.”

The new project might or might not has to do with the “WOW” camera. There are also rumor about a possible Olympus-Samsung partnership around smartphone. Anyway, don’t expect too much for now…

Some more tidbits from the interview:

– There is no info about the release date of the 100mm macro lens
– We have some more lenses in development
– Every year you can expect a minimum of 1 new camera and 2 new lenses to be released.

So, what to you hope those new “projects” will be about???
