First Olympus E-620, Nikon D5000 and Canon 500D comparison

The very good spanish magazine quesabesde has published an interesting comparison between the three cameras. What’s so useful about their review is that they focus more on real photography than on benchmarks or studio tests.

The results? First place for the Nikon D5000 (“very fast autofocus, good body quality, dynamic range and video“) and  soon after it the Olympus E-620 (“one of the best Olympus cameras ever made and wonderful with the Zuiko 14-42mm. Only weak point is the HIGH ISO performance“. The Canon 500D has the “highest price, and a worse body“!

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 Review

dmc_zs3

I personally love Panasonic compact cameras. I own the LX3, but the ZS3 would be my second choice! It has a longer zoom range than the LX3 and this alone could appeal to all the people who feel that the LX3’s range is too short.

Digitalcamera posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3. The only thing I don’t like is that the camera is noisy at 200ISO :(

Hi all!

Today we finally covered our  200$ server and  initial domain costs. Many thanks to the 5 donators who helped us and to those who helped us  to deal with our banners, providing us with some modicum of a revenue! ;)

Should you stop donating? No! ;)

Here are the reasons:

1) We are trying to make the page faster and nicer. But we believe we have to upgrade our server to achieve faster loading times.

2) We are the only Olympus and Panasonic rumor website. Without us life would be a lot more boring!

3) We post for you daily, keeping you up to date. Would you like an example? 2 days ago dpreview and engadget wrote a post over the new Voigtländer adapter. Our readers know that  we posted this news 2 weeks ago!

4) We were the first to predict the Olympus E-450. And we are the first to give  you real Micro Four Thirds specs.

5) Really, we work 2-3 hours per day for you. Yes we do it for fun and we like it. But every penny makes it even more enjoyable:)

You can contribute by just “paying attention” to our adsense banners or by donating (via paypal)!

Thank you all!

UPDATE: Oh yes we have some rumors for you. We will post these rumors soooon!

(FT3-FT4) Leica will not immediately join the micro four thirds world

According to two very close Leica sources, and contrary to our previous
report. In fact they have told us Leica is now focusing on realized
technology and existing product range (which includes the S-Series).
They are very interested to see how the market will accept Micro
Four Thirds products but they haven’t YET choosen to join the
venture. So it seems Panasonic will NOT develop the first compact
micro four thirds camera together with Leica.

What remains true is that Leica and Panasonic will develop the
LX5-DLUX5 together, but we are probably still more than one year away
from an official release.

43rumors opinion: Yes this rumors comes from known and trusted sources
but Leica could as always come with some surprises. They surprised the
world with their S-Series which came really unexpected. We have to put
some kind of James Bond secret microphone inside the Leica LAB :(
