(FT2) First Panasonic compact m4/3 rumor

This rumor comes from a new source. He told us that Panasonic is accelerating the development of a compact m4/3 model…. expect to see the camera in September/October.
– The camera will be similar in size to the E-P1
– New 12-Megapixel sensor
– There will definitely be a black version
– 720 60p/50p video
– External EVF
– No BodyIs planned now :(
– No partnership with Leica (unlike the Lx3-DLUX4 partnership).

We will see if this source will become one of our trusted ones…

Panasonic LX3 will become concurrence from Samsung?

The Panasonic LX3 is the most prised digital compact camera…but not for long time? Samsung is becoming really aggressive in the digital photography market. They have nice APSC cameras, the first NX camera should be released soon and I bet next year they will go fullframe.
And on July 7th they are read to announce a new compact camera, the HZ30W. Why should the camera be a strong LX3 competitor?
A fairly bigger sensor than most compact cameras, nice optical range (we do not know the aperture) and Oled screen.

Here the specs revealed by photorumors.com

* Design like HZ series
* 1/1.8″ CMOS sensor instead of a CCD 1/2.33″ (10mx?)
* ISO 100-3200
* Video Full HD
* 5X optical zoom (24-120mm) with ring zoom
* 3″ AMOLED
* RAW files
* It will call WB700 in Europe
